Clubs
Student Ideas Can Become Real Programs
At EBIA, innovation includes learning how to turn an idea into something real. Our club model gives students agency to help shape the opportunities available on campus.
Student-led By Design
If students want a club that does not yet exist, they are encouraged to advocate for it. Students identify the idea, find classmates who are interested, locate a staff member willing to serve as a sponsor, and work with the school to build a plan for the club.
The club list can change from year to year because student interests change from year to year.
From Idea To Club
- Identify an interest or need.
- Find other students who want to participate.
- Ask a staff member to serve as sponsor.
- Develop a simple plan for meetings and activities.
- Bring the proposal forward and help launch the club.
What Students Practice
Starting and sustaining a club asks students to do more than attend. They practice leadership, organization, communication, recruitment, planning, collaboration, and follow-through. Clubs may focus on academics, arts, culture, games, service, identity, hobbies, technology, competition, or another shared interest. Offerings depend on student interest and available staff sponsorship.
Students learn that being an innovator can mean noticing what is missing and taking the initiative to create it.
Learning by Doing, Belonging by Design.
